Fernet-Branca
Fernet-Branca is an aromatic bitter containing 39% alcohol by volume. The spirit is originally from Milan, Italy, and was created in 1845. Fernet-Branca is made from 27 different herbs and spices, including myrrh, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom, aloe and saffron. The complete recipe is a well kept secret and is only known by Count Branca, the direct descendant of Bernadino Branca, the creator of Fernet-Branca and founder of the Branca Distillery. Originally the drink was created as medicine and the rumor still is that 4cl of Fernet-Branca will cure any stomach ache. Fernet-Branca is usually served as a shot or a digestif after a meal.
